SOLVENT-EXTRACTION OF YTTRIUM(III), LANTHANUM(III) AND SOME LANTHANIDES(III) BY 1-PHENYL-3-METHYL-4-BENZOYL-5-PYRAZOLONE FROM WATER-METHANOL SOLUTIONS

The solvent extraction of yttrium(III). lanthanum(III) and certain lanthanides(III) (Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Tm) by 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolone in carbon tetrachloride from water-methanol phase was investigated. It was confirmed that the presence of methanol in aqueous phase has a synergistic effect. pH0.5x and the conditional extraction constants from water-50%(V/V) methanol phase were determined. The separation factors of Y(III), La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III) for the individual rare earth elements were calculated.
