摘要
The offset saturation of transformers as a result of geomagnetically-induced currents (GIC), creates high magnitude fundamental and harmonic exciting-current components. This paper characterizes and quantifies these components, indicating the critical transformer parameters. In addition to investigating single-phase transformer performance, this paper examines the performance of certain three-phase transformer types for which GIC results in phase imbalance.
