摘要：

Woman of 66 years of age that while being treated with clarithromycin, for a respiratory infection, developed ventricular tachycardia and torsades de pointes with long QT. After the suspension of the drug the QT was normalized and the patient evolved without events during 3 years. We warn on the potential adverse effect of QT prolongation and potentially fatal arrhythmias associated with the intake of clarithromycin, especially in groups with risk factors.
