The work presents concise characteristics of new ethnographical fieldwork materials on wintertime calendar-based rituals of the Russians. These materials have been collected by the author in Choya, Turochak and Maima Districts of the Altai Republic in 2012-2013. To find ways to popularize the knowledge about traditional Russian culture in a multiethnical region, the author of the work arranges a meeting with students. The article shows the experience of presentation of new ethnographical data about traditions and rituals of the winter cycle in a library, the atmosphere of which lets students not only learn the theoretical information, but also demonstrate the syncretism of folklore culture, including the reconstruction of data in conformity with fieldwork materials. Note that the experience gained promotion of ethnographic knowledge-based library again gives grounds to ensure the following: collaboration of scientists, folklorists and librarians to promote the folk culture seems more productive and relevant. Conditions and atmosphere in libraries allow to designate a syncretic phenomenon as traditional culture, presenting in one place its various aspects.
