摘要
The present essay tries to draw reflections from the observation of the emergence of instrumental reason as the foundation of modern science. Max Weber's diagnosis is that science understood as technique tends to reverse the logic of the man-knowledge relationship by producing a "managed" world. Still in the field of positive science, but seeking to decentralize the cognoscent subject from the Eurocentric thought, we discuss the effort of Pierre Bourdieu and Bernard Lahire's dispositional analysis to shift the scientific perspective to the perspective of the social actor. Then, crossing the Atlantic at the invitation of Boaventura Sousa Santos, we recovered CEPAL's contribution to understanding the world seen from here on the abyssal line. Finally, we refer to the contributions of authors such as Achilles Mbembe and Walter Mignolo to discuss the need to (re) think of (post) modernity and its double designated by the term (post) coloniality. It is hoped to identify new epistemological horizons that are designed for research in the "south of Ecuador".
