摘要
The effect of a substrate's nonreciprocity on the surface modes of a grounded chiroslab guide is investigated. It is shown that, for any surface mode, a bound on the magnitude of the nonreciprocity parameter exists, beyond which the mode is at cutoff. Furthermore, in the nonreciprocal achiral limit, the slab guide can only support TE modes-whereas in the reciprocal achiral limit both TE and TM modes can propagate.
