Representations of Masculinity in two Argentinean Women's Magazines

摘要
This paper examines the representations of the men in two Argentinean women's magazines from the 1990s: Para Ti and Mujeres & Compania. The purpose is to track what kind of masculine identities are constructed within their pages. Through discourse analysis, four types of dominant representations were recognized: men as women's couples, men as an identity in change, men as an object of laughter, and men as objects of desire. In addition, special attention was paid to how Argentinean magazines account for the changes in sexuality as a consequence of women achievements in the public sphere.
