Christianity shows, in any of its manifestations, that there is a problem of incompatibility between the nature of God and its relationship with the world that it creates. The aim of this text is to set out properly this problem, that is the problem of foundation and the problem of transcendence. In order to do that, we will examine one of the first cases where we can find this kind of formulation - Plato's philosophy. In Plato's Parmenides we identify the operations that produce difference and hierarchy in the relationship between foundation and founded. These operations constitute the problem of transcendence.
