摘要：

The article examines the claims of Belgium over the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and its rivalry with France in this question. It is an insufficiently studied issue of the international relations in the second half of 19th - early 20th century. Based on the archival and published documents it reveals Belgium's plans over Luxembourg, studies the activity of Belgian diplomacy during the World War I and the period of the Paris Peace Conference, shows how did the solution of the contradictions influenced on Luxembourg's further evolution.
