摘要
The present paper deals with the hydrodynamic characterization of external gas lift reactors (built with two recirculation vertical legs and a degasser) in wiev of a pilot scale industrial application. Different sizes (0.0065 to 0.084 m3 with 0.025 to 0.1 m diameter of the legs) are considered in order to define scale up effects for this piece of equipment, of unusual design due to peculiar process requirements. The investigated variables are the recirculation flow rate, the gas hold up and the specific interfacial area. The measurements are performed with a Pitot probe, a level gauge, and the method of the sulphite oxidation reaction. Correlation of the response variables with the superficial gas velocity are shown and scale up effects are investigated.
