Calliblepharis jubata and Solieria chordalis contain saturated and unsaturated fatty acids; in both algae, the main fatty acids are palmitic acid (16:0) and eicosapentaenoic acid (20:5). Calliblepharis jubata contains cholesterol and 22-dehydrocholesterol; cholesterol is the predominant sterol. Only cholesterol has been found in the samples of Solieria chordalis.
