Aneurysm of the internal thoracic artery after aortic dissection type A in marfan's syndrome

We report of a 60-year-old female with marfan's syndrome suffering chronic aortic dissection Stanford type A and a carcinoma of the coecum, who underwent complete aortic valve and total aortic replacement. CT scan 5 years later demonstrated a hyperdense structure of the left lung (diameter 18 mm, figs. 1, 2). Duplex sonography revealed an arterial flow signal. We conclude, that aneurysms of the internal thoracic artery may mimic pulmonary metastasis, especially in case of a relevant carcinoma in patients' history.
