摘要
Group Β streptococci (GBS) are the most common cause of systemic infection in neonates.1 Early-onset GBS infection often presents as overwhelming sepsis and respiratory distress during the first week of life and usually runs a fulminant course with an associated high mortality rate. Late-onset GBS infection presents between two and 10 weeks of age as meningitis2 although other focal infections have also been described.1 We report a 51/2-month-old infant who had GBS sepsis without meningitis and who presented with occult bacteremia. © Lippincott-Raven Publishers.
