摘要
In the delafossite-type AMO2 (A = Cu, Ag) oxides, the ionic radius of the trivalent element M may vary between 0,54 and 1,03 angstrom. However, the formation of solid solutions of formula CuM'1-xM"xO2 is possible only if the ionic radius difference is not too large. Such a situation occurs for M' = La3+ and M" = Y3+, but not for M" = Ga3+. On the other hand, unsuccessful attempts to prepare binary delafossites with A = Cu and M = Ni or Tl as well as other general considerations show that redox equilibria and electronic structure play a major part in the stability of these materials.
