I was amazed that a teacher who yelled a lot and banged a wooden pass relentlessly could be seen as nice, Mack, a first-year teacher, commented about her fourth graders report cards on her performance in a class where friendliness evoked disorder, but a harder stance on my part provoked anarchy. © 1979, Sage Publications.
