COLLISION-INDUCED DECOMPOSITION OF EXCITED PARA-DICHLOROBENZENE

摘要
The photodecomposition of p-dichlorobenzene of 253.7 nm has been measured in the presence of ethane. The quantum yield of monochlorobenzene formation is found to be 0.95 at ethane pressures higher than 200 Torr. The addition of CO2 or SF6 to the mixture of p-dichlorobenzene and 50 or 100 Torr ethane causes an increase in the quantum yield of photodecomposition, indicating collision-induced decomposition of excited p-dichlorobenzene. © 1979.
