We studied the magneto-optical and magnetic properties of Ce-substituted yttrium iron garnet film containing indium. The magnetic anisotropy energy K(u) was estimated at -1.58 x 10(4) erg/cm3 in the in-plane direction using ferromagnetic resonance. The lambda110 value is measured to be 1.56 x 10(-6) which is much smaller than that estimated from other reported values. It appears that the measured K(u) can not be explained only in terms of the stress-induced magnetic anisotropy.
