摘要
Jump‐like plastic deformation and work softening of zinc crystals previously subjected to work hardening by dislocations in the slip plane {1122} 〈1123〉 are investigated, and the dislocation structures arising from deformation of such crystals by basal slip. Based on the results obtained, a mechanism is proposed to account for the work softening of such crystals, namely the instability, of the pre‐formed dislocation structure which causes the work hardening.
