摘要
This paper present and criticizes two semantic approaches to the discourse about fiction: the Traditional Approach and the Context Change Approach. Although both these approaches predict the right truth-conditions to sentences about fiction, they both fail to do so when there are indexicals involved. We argue, following Predelli (2008), that a more accurate analysis is one that uses a controversial operator on contexts, i.e. a kaplanian monster. We also investigate a different case of talking about fiction, e.g. 'I think I could live close to her', and argue that this case is another piece of evidence in favor of a monstrous-based approache to the discourse about fiction.
