摘要
We present results of Integrated Numerical Experiment (INEX) simulations of the accelerator performance at the High Brightness Accelerator Free Electron Laser (HIBAF) facility at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. This 40 MeV machine was the first high-peak-current (I(p) > 300 A), low-emittance (epsilon-norm.90% < 40-pi mm mrad) accelerator designed with end-to-end code modeling, and close agreement between simulation and experimental measurements is needed to develop confidence in this procedure. In particular, accelerator parameters will be varied, and scalings of observable quantities will be compared. Comparisons will be made at the intermediate energy of 17 MeV. High-order rf modes and cavity asymmetries, as well as other detailed accelerator physics, will be included in the modeling. Beam behavior, such as emittance, energy spread, transverse distribution, and transport will be analyzed.
