摘要
In France, the ancestral practices of canoeing currently attracting a resurgence among canoeists. The boat was born in Canada reappears in a contemporary form authorizing the same uses of the river canoeing contemporary. In North America, the history of river canoeing expeditions and returns to conquer the great outdoors. The imaginary attached to this practice is based on adventure and the great outdoors. If canoeing is mostly developed from UK territorial conquests, at the interface between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, this open boat called canoe (O.C.) is institutionalized in France on a model inherited from the Canadian culture. Returning to the genesis of the O.C., movement of rehabilitation traditions for twenty years in Europe, it is to understand how this revival was hatched. To describe the universe of reference, we used the sportivisation process rooted in the history of the American continent. This article raises the question of whether there is continuity or rupture with the Canadian tradition in this movement of revival of an ancient practice.
