At the Second World Conference on Art Education, UNESCO established The Seoul Agenda (2010), which pointed to three main goals for art education: creative thinking, conserving the heritage and developing social and environmental values. These values gave a new concept to Art Education linked to creativity, heritage and society, thus demanding a new approach from art teachers and artists. This paper examines the meaning of Art Education and the skills demanded in teacher training in the light of this new perspective. The implementation of an innovative project for trainee teachers is intended to put these Art Education considerations into practice by developing skills in future teachers and highlights the role of Art Education in creativity, heritage and society. Art Education is thus seen as something more than teaching simple artistic skills; it can be considered as a migrating heritage that belongs to the whole of society.
