ABSORPTION AND EMISSION SPECTROSCOPIC INVESTIGATION OF CYANOVINYLDIETHYLANILINE DYE VAPORS

摘要
The dyes 4-dicyanovinyl-N,N-diethylaniline (DCVA) and 4-tricyanovinyl-N,N-diethylaniline (TCVA) are investigated spectroscopically in the vapor phase. The absorption and emission spectra are compared with solution spectra. The thermal stability of the dye powder is determined. The saturated vapor density versus temperature is deduced from absorption measurements. The vapor absorption peaks at 382 nm (DCVA) and 437 nm (TCVA). The fluorescence quantum efficiency of both dyes in the vapor phase is approximately 1.5×10-4. © 1990.
