摘要
Assessment of current professional programs showed the most serious problems to be lack of: (a) development of a broad theoretical background, (b) long-term supervision and contact with practicing professionals, (c) coordination between students' expectations and needs and program planning, (d) concern for individual client and society, and (e) development of means to implement recommendations. The present work being done by the National Council of Graduate Education in Psychology is discussed, and their concept of new professional programs is offered. This concept includes training students to work with people, and training by professionals in their own programs supervised and accredited by a board of the American Psychological Association.
