摘要：
In the title compound, C16H13IO2S, the 4-methylphenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 88.36 (7)degrees with the mean plane [r.m.s. deviation = 0.006 (2) angstrom] of the benzofuran fragment. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds and an I center dot center dot center dot O contact [3.103 (2) angstrom]. The crystal structure also exhibits slipped pi-pi interactions between the benzene and furan rings of neighbouring molecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.659 (2) angstrom].
