CONSOLIDATION OF NANOCRYSTALLINE AL-TI ALLOY POWDERS SYNTHESIZED BY MECHANICAL ALLOYING

摘要
Mechanically alloyed Al-10Ti alloy powders with nanometer sized grains were consolidated by vacuum sintering, hot pressing and hot hydrostatic extrusion. It is shown that the nanocrystalline Al-10Ti alloy exhibits deformation-enhanced grain growth behavior, and that this alloy powder can be consolidated to full density while maintaining a crystalline size well within the nano-regime by hot pressing or extrusion.
