TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT TAILS OF THE DENSITY OF STATES IN NONCRYSTAL SUBSTANCES

摘要
The theoretical analysis for the temperature-dependent tails of the density of states in noncrystal substances in given. For the first time the contribution of the double-well atomic potentials into these dependences is considered. It is shown that with involving the role of the double-well potentials one should differ two types of the tails in the density of states (optical and thermodynamic), which should manifest in various experiments. Their shapes and temperature dependences are analyzed. The temperature-dependent effect of double-well potentials on the tails of the density of states is shown to have an inertness able to lead to the long-time effects. The comparison between the theory and experimental data is performed for an amorphous hydrogenized silicon.
