Nuclear quadrupole coupling constants of thionyl chloride

摘要
The nuclear quadrupole structure of some low J transitions with large splittings has been measured for thionyl chloride ((SOCl2)-Cl-35) and analysed in terms of a first order perturbation. The following nuclear quadrupole coupling constants were obtained: x(aa) approximate to -25.01 +/- 0.07 MHz, x(bb) = -0.03 +/- 0.45 MHz and x(cc) = 25.04 +/- 0.45 MHz.
