摘要
Some of the physical characteristics of TLD-LiF has been published previously by the author.In this report we have studied the internal and external annealing effect,relative dose vs atomic number , build - up factor in narrow and broad beam conditions depth dose and electron and positron dosimetry . The glow curve of TLD - LiF for crystals that have received the standard annealing procedure compared to those in which the 80-degrees-C annealing has been omitted , which is the case in the most commercial TLD - Readers ( with internal annealing ) . The possibility of measuring the absorbed dose inside a midium was further studied by exposing Teflon disks placed between sheets of various metals. The results of this experiment shows that the TLD - LiF Teflon disks measure reasonably well the absorbed dose for >1 MeV gamma - radiation .
