摘要
Weld quality in the butt welding of coils on cold rolled sheet production lines has a strong influence on line productivity and final product quality. Investigations carried out jointly by the CRDM laboratory and the production staff have as objective to increase the reliability of these welding operations. A methodology is presented, which helps to solve possible weldability problems. It is applied to two practical cases : the prevention of fracture after flash butt welding of IF steel coils, and the reduction of welding overthickness on seam welding of packaging steel coils.
