INACTIVATION OF OXIDOREDUCTASE CONTAINING METALS BY SUPERCRITICAL CARBON-DIOXIDE

摘要
Aqueous solutions of several enzymes were exposed to supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) at the condition of 10 similar to 20 MPa and 35 degrees C. The activity of oxidoreductases containing metals, eg. catalase, peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase reduced by SC-CO2. The enzyme activities reduced with increasing time and pressure during the SC-CO2 treatment. However, lipase and pyruvate decarboxylase hardly lost the activities by SC-CO2. These results showed that there was a significant difference in the sensitivity of enzymes to SC-CO2.
