摘要
In order to prevent the formation of incendive brush discharges from the surface of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs) a range of fabrics have been constructed which contain a matrix of conductive threads designed to inhibit the incendivity of discharges produced. This paper investigates the dominant antistatic mechanisms associated with these fabrics and considers the necessity for earthing the threads to prevent spark discharges from the threads themselves. A discussion of possible design improvements for such fabrics, based upon the results obtained, is also given.
