Capitalism, neo-liberalism and economic policy

It is carried out an analysis of the meaning of neoliberalism from a political economy approach. For this, the basic features of capitalism, the role of the State and the limits of economic policy are expressed, which in turn allow to grasp the meaning of neoliberalism from its functionality to capital accumulation and the restoration of the capitalist rule. Although the theoretical foundations of liberalism are discussed, it is argued that the relevant issue lays not in the theoretical sphere, but in a particular practice. In this sense, Keynesianism is characterized as a variant of liberalism.
