摘要
Changes in symptoms and quality of life following transurethral resection of the prostate were investigated prospectively in 100 patients. The study enables to compare the data obtained to that of the multi-center studies of hormonal therapy of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Transurethral resection (TUR) overall improved frequency and grade of micturition disturbances. Obstructive symptoms were improved most frequently, less so dynamic disturbances i.e. urgency. Neither libido nor erectile function were diminished according to the patients. Activity and quality of life in general were significantly improved following TUR of the prostate.
