摘要：
The contact-impedance meter is a surface hardness tester based upon the measurement of the change in the resonance frequency of a mechanical resonator brought into contact with a surface. In this article, which is the first of a series, some of the theoretical aspects of the meter are discussed and the contact-impedance method is compared and contrasted with other hardness testing methods. © 1968.
