The Okamoto-Nolen-Schiffer anomaly, i.c. the failure theory to explain the difference of masses of mirror nuclei [1] provides the well known challenge to traditional nuclear physics, yielding the build up of isospin breaking forces. Here we show how certain features of such forces can be obtained from QCD sum rules analyses. This problem is only a single example of the broad class of problems arising in investigation of the nucleon placed into the matter for which the approach is needed.
