摘要
Objective: To analyze CoQ10 supplements during pregnancy and reduced the risk of preeclampsia in women as compared with normal healthy women Methodolgy:This case control, comparative study was conducted in department of Biochemistry, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro from February 2015 to October 2015 and patients were recruited from department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the hospitlal. A total 100 volunteers were recruited and divided into two groups; 50 were normotensive healthy pregnant women as a control group and 50 were patients with pre-eclampsia as experimental group. They were recruited based on sign and symptoms, obstetric history, anthropometric, clinical data. Blood samples were analysed for CoQ10 by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with Diode Array Detector (DAD). Results: The plasma CoQ10 level before supplementation was found to be decreased in preeclamptic patients (0.22 +/- 0.09) ig/dl as compared with control group (1.08 +/- 0.36) ig/dl. After 3 months of supplementation of CoQ10, plasma levels of CoQ10 increased significantly (p<0.05). Conclusion: The supplementation of CoQ10 improved the health of mother as well of her fetus by decreasing the blood pressure during pregnancy.
