摘要
In this paper we have aimed to elaborate a critical account on the closing of the epistemological gap that has separated sciences and humanities since the XVI century. Our interpretation takes Ilya Prigogine's discussion of this matter as a starting point. The reiterated reference to "the arrow of time" is a constant theme in Prigogine's work: In the realm of reality, everything that is happens only once and reversibility is not possible; thus disrupting the traditional idea of an immutable truth, harbored by classical physics. Instead, the notion of a truth in permanent reconstruction flourishes. It is precisely this idea of an irreversible time what allows Prigogine to turn his eyes to the soft sciences and humanities as worthy bastions of this new form of knowledge: each discipline has its own share of truth. Knowledge is constructed in an interdisciplinary way. So, here lays the "scientific" pretext for reincorporating man to the clearing of nature, and for retaking the dialogue between science and humanities.
