In this article the author tells of the part played in the victory over Napoleon by all strata of the Russian Empire (nobility, peasantry, clergy and merchant class) along with national minorities. As compared to any other event in Pre-Revolutionary Russia, the War of 1812 has the largest number of research papers dedicated to it.
