Liquid-liquid-vapor (LLV) phase equilibrium loci for the binary mixtures carbon dioxide + n-hexanol, carbon dioxide + n-octanol and carbon dioxide + n-decanol were experimentally studied using a visual cell (stoichiometric) technique. The pressure, temperature, phase compositions and molar volumes of the two liquid phases are reported for all the mixtures. LLV locus end points are reported for all the carbon dioxide + n-alkanol mixtures from n-propanol to n-tetradecanol, the first and last members of the series, respectively to exhibit LLV immiscibility with carbon dioxide. © 1990.
