AN ASYMPTOTIC THEORY FOR MODERATELY LARGE DEFLECTIONS OF ANISOTROPIC PLATES

In this paper a first approximation theory for the moderately large deflections of anisotropic plates is derived. The method used is that of asymptotic integration of a non-linear set of elasticity equations. Higher order systems can be derived in a systematic manner. For an isotropic material, the derived equations reduce to the von Karman equations. © 1969 Wolters-Noordhoff Publishing.
