摘要
Nutrigenomics is a science frontier between nutrition and genomics. The study of nutrigenomics has been made possible by advances in human nutrition, genomics, and computation science. Screening of healthrelated genes can be carried out for less than $100 because a person does not need the whole genome to assess his or her risks. There are many examples that personalized nutrition is a reality where people with different genotypes respond differently to nutrients or dietary habits. However, it is a different story for nutrition issues that are controlled by multiple genes. Human nutritionists need to further their collaboration with genomic researchers and computer scientists to solve the problems of the complicated interactions between nutrients and genes. Education and outreach are also needed to build the professional capacity of this new field.
