摘要
The determination of appropriate slag compositions is very important for a high rate of recovery of manganese metal and the smooth operation of ferromanganese making blast furnaces. The viscosities of slags with different chemical compositions were measured in the laboratory. Studies on the effects of reaction temperature and slag composition on the rate of MnO reduction by carbon were carried out both in the laboratory and at a ferroalloy works. Proposals for slag composition and furnace thermal level for the optimum performance of the blast furnace have been made on the basis of this study.
