摘要
Vertigo is often a motive for consulting in an emergency department. Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is one of the major etiologies for patients consulting in the emergency department. It is usually a benign pathology that evolves positively on its own but its occurrence can be linked mainly to anxiety. Its diagnosis is mainly done by medical interrogation and clinical examination. Two main forms of BPPV exist and diagnosis is confirmed through Dix-Hallpike maneuver. BPPV treatment is resumed through liberatory maneuvers. BPPV of the posterior semi-circular canal (most often type) depends on the "Epley maneuver". BPPVof the lateral semi- circular canal depends on the "barbecue maneuver".
