PREPARATION, STRUCTURES AND CONDUCTIVITIES OF LI2SIS3 PHASES

摘要
The Li2SiS3 composition was investigated as possible lithium-conducting solid electrolytes. Depending on cooling conditions from the melt, the composition Li2SiS3 formed three different phases: equilibrium, metastable crystalline, and glassy phases. The samples were prepared by using pyrolitic graphite-coated silica ampoules and analyzed by powder x-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, and AC impedance spectroscopy. The metastable crystalline Li2SiS3 is a new phase found in this study, and it has a stretched one-dimensional chain structure compared to the equilibrium Li2SiS3. The analysis of the structutures and conduction behaviors of the three phases suggests that the enhanced ionic conductivity of the glassy Li2SiS3 is dominated by the higher carrier mobility rather than by the higher carrier concentration. © 1990.
