LASER CONTROL OF PREDISSOCIATION BY (2+4)-PHOTON INTERFERENCE

摘要
The dressed-molecule method is employed to simulate the interference of two- and four- (2 + 4) photon transitions between the ground XSIGMA(g)+ and the excited predissociated 2PI(g) state of Cl2. By variation of the relative phase and intensity of two lasers (one of frequency omega4, the other of frequency omega2=2omega4) it is shown that predissociation in the PI(g) state can be suppressed selectively, i.e. one vibrational level at a time. Consequently, it is possible to control the dissociation yield from the PI(g) predissociation channel.
