摘要
ATP can function as a feedback inhibitor of sugar transport in skeletal muscle. This serves to regulate the availability of the sugar in accord with the metabolic needs of the cell. ATP also has a permissive effect on the, stimulation of sugar transport by insulin. This has been associated with'the binding of the hormone to its receptor; however, the possibility remains that some postreceptoral event concerned with the transmission of the insulin signal may also be ATP-dependent. © 1979.
