A model of the electron transitions is proposed from the analysis of the PbI2 luminescence spectra depending on the temperature, excitation wave length, the alloyage degree and impurity nature as well from the thermoluminescent investigations and measurements of photogalvanic current of these crystals. The model explains the features of the experimental thermoluminescence curves and photoluminescence bands at the short-range IR spectrum region. The effect of crystal annealing allows relating the 620 nm band and Pb vacancies the 700 nm band I2 vacancies. The results agree with, data of the study of the photoelectric PbI2 features.
