摘要
In 1988, Proctor and Coleman applied lubrication theory to the problem of slipping on floors wetted with water and to the methods commonly used in Great Britain for assessing pedestrian slip-resistance. The role of the surface roughness of floors and footwear soles was evaluated, and it was shown that measurements taken by existing instruments are open to misinterpretation. Research since 1988 has been reviewed and generally been shown to support the earlier position. Some popular misconceptions are also discussed.
