摘要
This paper presents the description and analysis of a new Large Scale Static VAR Compensator (SVC) system, which integrates the advantages of PWM Selective Harmonic Elimination Modulation (SHEM) and Harmonic Cancellation by Transformer Connection (HCTC) to minimize the filtering requirements. The key feature of the proposed SVC system is the Low Switching Frequency of the PWM pattern, which allows the utilization of high power GTO thyristors (fsw max=420 Hz). Formulation and solution of the Newton-Raphson method for possible low frequency PWM switching patterns, performance comparison for multiple solutions, filter design and the steady state analysis are presented in this paper. © 1990 IEEE
